Got this new car (Mitsubishi Diamante) the radio doesnt work, and I am wanting to install a CD Player for the wife.

I am usually pretty good at figuring things out and not letting them kick my a55 , but this one has me baffled :banghead3: :cussing: . I looked online for forums and all to give instructions on how to remove the factory radio and no one will tell you unless you send them $$$$. **** a55 junkies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does ne one on here have a clue as to how to uninstall the factory radio in a 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante??????????????????

PLEASE HELP ME........................FOR FREE!

Never worked on one of those. Probably need a set of the "stereo shim" things. And when that fails, take the dash part around the radio and you could figure out how to get it out.

if it is a 90-96 model it is like this

Remove
(2) Phillips screws from each side of the gear
shifter console. Remove (2) Phillips screws
from the top of the console (under the
ashtray). Lift the console out and remove (2)
Phillips screws exposed at the base of the
dash trim bezel. Pull out on the bottom of the
dash trim bezel, disconnect the wiring and
remove the bezel. Remove (4) screws
securing the factory head unit and
disconnect the wiring.

that may also work up to 05

Mitsu :noes:

My GF's Pontiac was a PITA as well. Had to remove half of the dash to get the radio out. Same with the lincon towncar IIRC. I guess it is good for security for the stock radio, not that many people would steal a stock radio.

CC did my alarm/remote start and i've had to back at least 5 times.

1.crappy install. blowing fuses when remote starting.

2.replace alarm due to said install.still loose wires.

3.still blowing fuses. total rewire.8 hrs in shop.blamed for crappy install by store manager.

4. still blowing fuses. rewired power strait to batt.

5......actually i went only 4 times...4 times too many!!!

I agree with the best buy=bad statement, but it doesn't apply to all the installers there. The head installer at the best buy near my house does great work, he showed me the correct way to set my gains and how to wire my sub/amp(into different ohm loads). Every one else that works there, mainly 20-25 year old pre-fab pounders does not so up to par work.

Im rambling, so if you read this far I award you with a:  A dancing banana.
