I am planning a new build (assuming I get this new job)

I am debating over 4 15" BTLs or 3 18" BTLs in my ranger.

What would you guys do?

Either way they will be ported

going to be a wall with a camper? if not, i really dont see either of those fitting.

id say go with the 18s personally

They will fit without the topper.

Four 15s would be the better option, I love me some 18s though

Mounting space isn't the problem, but what about the proper air space?

You dont have enough air space.

i had 4-15s in a ranger and trust me air space is a bish... you would be better off doin 2-15s if your not gonna do a topper.... imo

Pull back from the 15 or 18 btl's go with the ssd' or cheaper subs and run 9) 12's or 16) tens. They dont even have to be FI' , and remember cheaper subs and increased cone area equals more spl and thats the point !!

that subs = a lot harder class

2 15's is about the most you are going to have room for.

Even then, because you have like 16" of depth, figureing out the port will be a *****. Best just go with a half wall.

well if your like 3 foot tall then you can do a nice 4-15 wall... im about 6ft and trust me it dont work.... and the fis need more space then the ss so ... but if your about looks and not sound go with what ever you want...

4-15's is super tight in an ext. cab p-u, I've done it in an s-10 (10 cu. ft), but it was not comfortable to drive. 2-15's will be just as loud, and sound much better. Or 1-15 or 18 in a wall works well in the cab!!

You could even probably squeeze 2 18s in there if you walled it. But Id go with 2 15s.

yea 2-18s will fit but you run into the airspace... the box is only able to be so big.... to sit comfortable your only gonna get like 8cuft out of your truck maybe 10at most..... me and my brother both had ext cab rangers and tried it all

I wouldnt try 2 18's. If you were going to build a wall in such a small cabbin it would be less about pressurizing a smaller airspace and more about wanting more airspace for a more efficent design. If you are 5'8" or less you wil be able to do 16" depth relatively co****tably IMO. 3' high and 48" wide that is roughly gross. You are going to have to bend the port to get any sort of decently low tuning. Depending on the driver you want to use 2 15's is hitting the limit IMO. You will still need to find room for amps. 4 12's or 8 10's would be fun and the truck is perfect width for 4 12's if you staggar slightly.

Maybe get a bigger truck?

give me the measurements for the inside of your truck, me and my teammate Ray Ray built a box for 4 15's for O C's ranger and I have a box for 4 15's with 4 Fi fully loaded BTL 15's in it now in my truck and it might fit in your ranger and it's all for sale. if it will fit I would be willing to make you a deal on all of it. box and subs. call me if you want, 863-221-4189

 I would do 2 15s stacked and port on the Drivers side..I think in that vehicle you have around 12 to 14 cubes..Build a box outside the vehicle as big as will fit. Build it strong..LOL
