Okay, so I put this cheap EQ in my beater truck and this thing is making some hellacious noise ! When I turn the EQ off, the noise stops. Can I get a better ground to stop the noise ? What can I do without taking it out and throwing it in the trash ? I have some nice JBL speakers in it - Thanks to Pure Pressure Audio. Now I just need to get this noise out of it. I have the power wire connected to the remote wire of the head unit so I can leave the EQ turned on at all times but it only powers up when the radio is on. The EQ's ground wire is connected to the radio ground. Thanks for any help.

I will try to re-ground it. It does not have any rca's, I wired all the speakers individually. I will post back when I ground it somewhere else to let ya' know what happens.

Just grounded the EQ wire under the dash on a metal bracket that I tested to make sure it was a ground source. Now it sounds like someone is killing cats on the front dashboard ! ... Got worse. I will try another place for a ground.

 Care to donate a Rockford EQ ? LOL

I tried to ground this thing everywhere and it still makes a high pitch sound through the speakers. I even grounded it straight to the batteries ground post. Damn it man ! Anything else I can do, except wait for Barry to send me a Rockford EQ ? lol.

So there is no way to get rid of the noise, Other then trashing the EQ ?
How about a ground loop isolator or a noise filter ?

I am not using the rca's. I wired the speakers individually. I did not have any noise form the head unit before. It only happened when I hooked up the EQ. When I unhook the EQ, the noise stops.

Its brand new. It sounds great with the engine not running, but, as soon as you crank the truck up - the cats start screaming ! It not the cheapest one out there but cheap enough. Its a MA Audio EQ.

I put the ground wire back to the hu ground wire and it gets the least noise that way. I touched the grounds to the metal on the hu and the noise almost went away completly. I just grounded the wires there too so now it sounds a lot better. This will do until Barry or Jim donates a good EQ to me.... LOL ....
