1 18 re mt and 12000 watts

ok i got 1 18 mt with 12000 watts on it in a ford explorer,my box is 5 cube after displacements,my port area is 180 sq in,im hitting 152.3 on the term at 43hz,my question is do yall think i should be doing better numbers and is my port area to big,just wanting some opinions and advice.thank's john

Well, if you were tuned higher, you'd defiantly be louder. I'd keep it like that if it's just for daily driving and bass race type stuff.

that's a great number. Did you build the box? Are you looking to change it? Do you want to get louder without a wall? What Autotek amps do you have? Do you know the resonant freq of the Exploder?

im running the autotek mm3000.1's at .7 each amp is seeing.yes i built the box,resonant freq of the explorer is around 41 hz,no wall because im in street c,just looking for options to get louder.

Have you tried a loading wall in front of the port? How about glassing the whole inside of the box and sanding it smooth? Tried aiming the port to the left and right? Where is the sensor for the 52.3? Are you in it? Moved seats, visors, glovebox, etc.? How long is the port?

sensor is legal on the passenger side windshield me outta of the vehicle,today i burped a 152.6,and engine is off while i burp.

hell of a # at 43hz. i do think it would go louder with some work on the box. my pt is doing 151.0 at 45hz with 1-12 solo-x and 2 kx2500.1's at 2 ohm each.

if you have time to frive to metter sometime, i can show you a quick 1-2db gain in that car with about 3 feet of pvc pipe, some foil tape, and some playing with speaker wires.

yea i tried halfing a piece of 3'' pvc and putting in the port on 1 side,didn't do anything,but i havn't tried in different places in the port yet,yea but im always game for 1-2 db. :D

looking to have it at 152, hopefully 153 by next weekend. playing 45hz right now, so there is still alot i can do with it.

ive run into trouble trying to tune my explorer any higher than 43-44hz,i tried to tune it to where it would burp in the 50's but the truck didnt agree with it,my truck wont get loud unless you tune it sorta low.but 152 153 would be nuts for 1 12. :shock:

mine got to that point, where adjusting the port length didnt do anything. try playing with the depth of the enclosure, and then playu with the port some more. thats what helped me get my note up a few hz.

yea ive tried to shorten the port and my numbers decrease,the freq will pick up but the score goes down,its like my truck resonants at 41-43 hz,and no matter how hard you fight it the truck wins.lol 8)
