hey ya'll
well i just found this site only to find that i must have signed up a years ago and never posted. i dont remember doing that but then again i dont remember yesterday so thats par for the course.
I am what i would consider and average to above average car audio freak. I dont know to much but i know enough to be loud. my install abbility is ok and i'm decent at making things atleast look clean enough to not be embarassed to show my work. my set up currently is as follows.
two 15" L7
two kicker zx1500.1
two sets of K502 components
one zx650.4
one 240amp alt
3 yellow top batts. 1 up front 2 in the back
2 runs of oawg power
ground direct to frame sanded and welded
two layers of bee quite on all walls, doors, floor, roof.
Viper 791. two horns, two pizos, dedicated backup battery full set of dummy wires.
Subs are in 5 cubes each after port and sub. box is tuned to 38hz slot port. box is made from 1inch MDF and inside is coated in fiber glass. subs fire up, ports fire forward. its nothing super special as far as equipment goes but it looks nice and sounds great IMO. plenty loud for my daily driver
all of this is in the cab of my F150
in the picture below you can see some of the work. you might notice there is only one 1500.1 in the picture. i started the system this way and later added the second one. since i was way to lazy to redo the entire design of my amp rack i chose to just mount it behind the box someday i'll incorporate it into the design. If interested i have lots of pics from beginging to end of the install
I will be in daytona this weekend so i plan to looks for floridaSPL guys and will try to introduce myself. well thats all for now. I hope to become a contributing member of this site and I am looking forward to learning from some of you serious SPL guys.
