ok i have 2 12in orion xtr dvc 4 ohm subs.

i have this much space to work with. 31.5 X 18 X 15.

they will be wired @ 1ohm mono. i want them to sound good with music, but also get loud at comps, and play deep too. my 10 got me a best of 140.1...but of course i need more!!!

so who can draw me up a plan or build it for me. i prefer ported boxes.

i'm off till thurs. i can trade an amp/cash or just pay cash.

That seems a little small to tune low and loud .. but if that's all you have to work with ..

build it that size with a port 3.5" x 13.5" about 20" long

If you can get more air space, you will get more output and alot more low end, but this will bump hard.

well orions web site with those dimensions it said i would have 3.867 cu ft.

and those subs in a ported box need 1.75 per.

so with your port size advise wouldnt it work?

I have an xtr pro 15d orion gave me 3.58 b4 sub and 3.2 after with 2 4" round ports 7.626" long @ 42.98hz it would work with your 12s possibly. im changing the ports to 1 port 16" x 4" x 28" like i had origionaly. it was a lot louder then. Currently it has 4"x4"x10" ports in it, i scratched the single port because of bracing problems but now have them worked out. my internal demensions for the box are 14"D x 16"H x 27-5/8"L made of 3/4" MDF. This is in the trunk of a 1995 mercury sable 4 door and i use it for db drag and bass race as well as the daily driver. it peeks @ 44hz - 47hz with the 4"x4"x10".

I can design you a box if you want then you can just have someone build it. Let me know, I could get a design whipped up in a couple minutes.

Considering wood, port, and woofer displacement, I would guess you have closer to less than 3 cubes net. (assuming those were max external dimensions)

Is it going in the Blazer in your pic??

Are you talking old school XTRs?

Can you go taller on the box, at least?

And, if you want to compete, you could tune the box with a slot port tuned high and build and insert tuned low to play music. .

what if i throw the spare on the roof? then the box can be at least 40in wide.

so 40 x 18 x 16

Now, that will net you about 4.3 cubes. 64 square inches of port about 18 inches long will tune you near 40hz.

Go about 25 inches long, and you will tune near 35hz for more low end but not as much total output.

Good thing is ... if the older XTR's don't get low like you would prefer. .this box design is just right for alot of other high output woofers that definately will. . . ie Kicker, Fi, RE, DD, whatever.

the problem is price... the cheapest plase i could find wanted 375 a door, and i dont want a full fiberglass door i just wanna put 5 mids in each door, 4-5 tweeters in each a pillar, and i dont know about the crossovers
