Hey everyone, just saw the site on a windshield banner and decided to log on and check it out, since i do have a question about my system
When the volume is turned up, and the bass starts to hit hard, the amplifier goes into protect mode
Any suggestions on what the problem could be?
Its a Kenwood KAC-8104D

Possible that your not getting enough voltage from the battery to the amplifier. Check all your connections and grounds. You might need a cap or second battery

Agreed, measure your voltage when this happens.

Of course =)
I have to get a working multimeter and then ill get back to you about the voltage, but thats probably the only problem, right?

maybe too low of a load on the amp? its possible it can handle it at low vol,but when cranked it cant.

Also you may have a coil going bad. It will play fine at low volumes but when its turned up it shorts out due to bad coil and enters protection untill its turned down then plays again. I've had it happen a few times.
And since I forgot in my 1st post - welcome to the forum. Do you got pics - we love pics

Welcome to the forum!
That sounds like a ground issue to me. Make sure you have a good crimp connection and a relatively short ground wire. Sc**** paint from that area and use a few screws or a bolt to secure it.
