So I just got a old body style extra cab s10. but i have to fit my sons car seat in the back on the fold out seat. So for a box I came up with this idea.
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e304/AndrewMack/s10box2.jpg so i will have a 7"x34"x13" center console connected to a 8.5" deep x? x? not sure on how high to make it and how wide i can make it. I was wanting to fit atleast a pair of 10s. and go ported. or I can just make the center console and port it, sub and port firing back with a single L7 8"........ any ideas and how does that box design look?

Do you have room for a single downfiring 12?

Better question, how much space do you have between the seats?

between the seats 8" if i did just a center console i can do 8x13.5"x34

is there even room for a seat back there. i used to have an old S15 and it was tight back there.
maybe the seat in the middle and 2 subs on either side?
or the L7 8 can work in a tiny sealed box for the center console.

hmmm..how about a center console going all the way to the rear wall with 1 or 2 small down firing subs. going slightly wider as you go to the rear. then you should still have room for the seat on either side of the truck.

my sons car seat fits perfect on one of the rear seats. i have thought about putting a box just behind my seat and leaving room for his car seat. but i have to rebuild a center console anyway so i was going to see if i could make something work with that. i might just do the single 8", sub and port firing back hide the amp under the seat or maybe a half wall with two 15s lol

I'm not really sure how well it would work. But personally I'd go with a single BA 10 side firing with a rear firing port. You could get just a bit over 1cuft ported with a decent tune.
Decide who gets the extra kick in their butt.

Are you decent with a jig saw?
That's all you really need to make that CC.
If I had the money I'd go with two of those Rl-i 8's ported and 5-600w. :eyebrow:

Maybe you should contact Pedro about 2 8"s see if he has some spares and bring the port up through the center console

i only have 2 that dont have issues, and i would like to do a lil something with em one day..
the other 2 are one their last legs...1 has a blown coil the other has a scratching sound coming from it.
now if i had the money 4 of those RLi 8's would fit the bill..

well i cant exactly afford 200 bucks for a single 8 lol and only being 1.5cube i am not sure thats large enough for two..... is the idea of the sub and port firing back anygood? if i made a curvy CC like that how do i figure out the cubic foot so i can calculate a port

well i got the truck taken apart a good bit today. some dash work is needing done, the previous owner painted the dash some cheap chrome color, going back to factory color. Black. got the console out so i am going to use it for the template for the bumps. should be pretty easy, i am somewhat decent with a jigsaw so we will see. i have to make this thing so i can mount cup holders on the top and a place for my cell phone and then a spot to put some foam for my elbow

Mines a 91. Its hot the 5 speed manual tranny and the bucket seats weren't stock so I don't have but 6" between them if that. I'm gonna build a console in it with the top cutout to match the shift pattern and cup holders is a must. The glove box door just won't cut it. I put my amps and second battery behind the seats in mine because the subs are in the bed and the window is the port of the front chamber of the bandpass enclosure. 6 12s for now when I actually buy them and the amps. The mids and highs will be in custom door pods. Take some pics of the console build if you can. Wed like to see how it comes out

You used Google sketchup and posted that picture. Sorry to get off subject but how did you do that??? I've been using that program to design but not able to save a pic and post it.

the box is 12" deep 36"wide and 24" tall. port and sub up, either a 6" PVC port, or a slot port. if i went with the slot how big should i make it... 3" and how low can i tune it?
