Many newer amp manufacturers are using model numbers as the "max" output. I agree though, it should be industry standard for a model number to coincide with its RMS rating followed by channels or ohm load rating.

Honestly that’s what Massive Audio used to always do (Pro Series as example) but retailers said if Max power is not listed amps do not sell well because everyone else (but us at the time) was listing Max power. Marketing I suppose. Regardless its a standup amp and really complements the new HD1600.4 unit well-

Man I'm sorry but these are prob gona be a huge let down just like the socalled 4000.1s were. What a stink fest then it got to the point of where massive didn't wana clean up the mess they made and shorted the ppl. Wrong choice.

You mean the P3000.1? That was acutally a great amp that many loved. the only problem with it was it was a 2ohm stable amp and it would let you run it all the way down to 0.5 ohm anyway. The DB8000 is 0.5 ohm stable and has better x-overs and a EQ on the amp-

Don't knock it till you try it :)

U kno waht I ment... 4k at .5 tho ? Aint that a lil weak? And why the trickery with the 8000.1 tag ? I know many ppl greatly disappointed with the 3000.1s. Have never heard a pos thing. I'm not sayin to just to say have had 1st hand horror with these amps. Have even seen em burn just sitting at idle not playing any music at all. This company in my eyes has a lot to prove and until I see proof pos nuthings gona change my mind. Jus a lot of good hard earned money spend on a pipe dream in the past...

Hmmm, I'm not happy to hear you had a bad experience and will not doubt your problem is ligit by any means... but (being defensive) we did sell thousands of those amps all across the world and of course with something that big you get problems but we sold that unit for over 3 years so to be fair to us it had to be a success somewhere :)

send me a personal message and maybe we can work something out. Always looking to help where we can. Thanks for the input (good or bad it helps) and hope we can work past those past issues. We actually love what we do here and truly believe in our products and will always keep pushing-

I am a massive dealer, I can can speak from personal use and I have sold quite a few in the last 4 years and have only had one 3000.1 come back.

What is the current draw? Does it burn itself up when the voltage drops for an extended period, as I'm sure an amp like this will cause?

massiveaudio

Current draw is around 250A-300A (would stay closer to 300 to be safe)

The DB's will go right into proection if it hits 12.4v or lower but always try and keep above 12.5v just to be safe-

Max voltage is also 15v

Cool. Pretty good efficiency to make that power with 300 amps. Amps lacking low voltage protection makes me nuts, there are a few companies who's amps WILL explode if you run them too low. Thanks!

really? cool, what kid?...
The pyramid out of the JC whitney catalog...
not so much cool.../discussion

Saw the 3000.1 at a show in palm beach, seemed to be a decent enough amp, that's the extent of my experience with Massive amps though.

I have a decent system, I just call it ****ty because I am not motivated to finish it. I have been walled off for 5 months, and still haven't done panels for it, or an amp rack for that matter.
