Im currently in the proccess of purchasing two more Maw-10 Subwoofers. I already have two. So in total I will be doing Four 10" subwoofers in a 4 cu.ft. Box tunned to 29hz. I will be doing only front stage MB Quart components. Am I on the right track. Will these subs be good for SQ??? these are the specs on them. Thank you for your time and information.
(audiojunkies review) "Quick and responsive is how you would describe the MAW-10 when you listen to it. Yet, it will pound like no one's business and get loud when you want it to. Bass authority is supplied from the MAW-10's two inch dual voice coils and 10mm one way Xmax. Use the MAW-10 at home and in the car."

The Mach 5s will probably sound pretty good. The MB Quarts are really harsh, even to me.

I got a couple Focal Polyglass comp sets, and a pair of Image Dynamics IDQ V3 10s for sale. Even have a DLS A5 that would run all of it.
Now that would make a nice SQ system. :)

I bought the Focals used, but they were still BNIB. One set is still BNIB, the other I hooked up and tested for a few minutes.
Ill sell the 2 pais for what I bought them for, $500. If you bought them online, they would be $700 + shipping.

The guys over at diyma can do amazing sound on a budget, you have to shop smart and install wisely. keep an eye out in their FS section, lots of good stuff for good deals almost daily.
as long as you can get past all of the second skin is the best thing since sliced bread talk, there is tons of good info. Lots of the members have been brain washed into thinking there is nothing better because the owner of second skin owns the forum as well.

:banghead3:Dammit,LoudBlazer!You said it before I could!:banghead3:Seriously,from what I've seen over the years, four tens would be overkill if you're doing SQ.They only want you to have a hint of bass.Look at past pics and interviews of Gary Biggs,Steven Head, and Mark Eldridge.Maybe they'll give you a little insight on the SQ side of things.

Im not only going STRICTLY SQ. What I really want is a decen SQL. I want it to sound good but be able to turn some heads. I had one Maw-10 in my girl's car and I dumped 1200 watts into it. It sounded amazing till the VC decided that it couldn't take anymore. LOL 1200 into a 250 RMS and no clipping. I find that to be pretty impressive. I like the lows of the maw's for being 10's. Im doing for so I can move more air with less power. 1000 watts RMS into the tens and then probably 150 Rms a channel for the front stage. Probably Two Sets of comps for the front. Im just looking for input for front stage setup. Thinking about making pods for the pillars and do a small set of comps on them and then another set of comps on the doors. I had a 1980 VW rabbid diesel but im getting rid of it and going to be doing this setup in a 96 Acura Integera. I will be removing the back seat so I can do just about anything I need to do for the box for the subs. I want plenty of room for them to breath. This is my First Concept design for the Subs. Tunned to 29hz and a little over 4 cu.ft. Pleace CRITIZIZE MY WORK. I will take all info. and I am lookin at the DIY FOurm. kinda hard to learn from them. Not really helping me because im SUCH a NOOB on it. Thank you for all your time and effort. and CRITIZIZE My choices. I want it to sound good and loud. but I can't change the subs because I already invested into them.

If you were looking for something that would sound nice, maybe look into something like this.
Heard these are nice for the money.

Nice single 12.
http://www.woofersetc.com/p6225/IDQ12V3D4--Image-Dynamics-12"-IDQ-Version-3-Dual-4-Ohm-Subwoofer.htm
Bridge the front channels on the comps.
http://www.woofersetc.com/p3961/ZX7005--Kicker-5-Ch-700-Watt-ZX-Series-Amplifier.htm
Would all cost around $900, but would sound great.

Yeah he did. But,he used them for the SPL part of the judging. The SQ portion he used a single JBL 10" sub which is why I said 4 10s is overkill in the SQ world.

I apologize for being a newb. But I can't change the subs because I already invested into them. I was actually looking at those components on Ebay. Those will sound better then I will chang out to them. I guess Im wanting SQL??? I want it to sound good but push enough air and decent loud that's why I was thinking four 10's powered with 1200 RMS. And front stage with a 2 channel 150 RMS per channel with the precision power's now... Do you think that will be good for SQL??? Im learning here so don't get mad if im asking stupid questions. thank you for your time.

Don't apologize for being a noob.We all were noobs at one point.I'll do some research on SQ(I thought I'd never, ever say those words)and try to give you some insight.I'm sure you can get some feedback on the SQ forum at Termpro as well.

Why are you asking everyone if they think the subs are good if you're going to use them regardless?

Because I want people's input to see if my Idea's are way off then other's who have more experience in the field. I'll be using them for now but if enough people disagree with the subs then I would look into switching them out for something else. As of right now I can't change the subs, gotta use them at least a little while.

YelLow Rabbit, For extreme hi end SQ it does take a little time and money and planning. I have built some cars for guys that have done reall well on SQ and got pretty great bass also. Was it LOUD? well that depends on what YOUR idea of loud is. If you get a chance i would like to let you hear my Rodeo that is NOT a SPL monster but sounds great and people seem to love the bass as well. One of my older customers from back in the day called me the other day and is looking to rebuild a couple vehicles. He has LOTS of used equiptment to dump and i could hook you up with him. He has LOTS of old school Zapco amps and processors as well as Canton and MB Quart stuff to move. Some of it is pretty old (12-15 years) but may help you get very respectable SQ on the cheap with great products.

i know. lol. ive seen some of their $100 coaxials, but i know they also run up to like $2300 components... however, i believe their $400 components are comparable to the $900 focals, jbl, etc. again, strictly from what ive been told by someone whos been in the business for a long time. i havent heard much yet, but am very excited to check it all out.

i think a SOLID mounting surface and some good deadening is key to make even a regular speaker sound better or a good speaker sound even better.

I am most certian going to be sound deadening anything that it can be applied too. I also Just recently Purchased a Sundown Sax 100.2 for the front stage.
