So i've been planning on running a pair of mach5 MJ18"S and they are 350, they plot out well on winISD at 36hz. but the IXL 18"s look beefier, can handle more power and cost 530. dont plot out so well at 36hz. to get the same roll off I have to tune around 29......... let me know what ya guys think. Also getting the IXL's will mean no 2nd amp for components. running off the HU for a while

I've seen them in action and can say they are not over rated what so ever.

if you are planning on upgrading in the future, then yes. the upgrade is worth the money. because you will spend the $300 now, and the $500 later. if you think the mj's are going to be a "final" production, then stick with them. you seem to have been impressed by them before.

yea i was very impressed. I heard them in a 10cube net enclosure on a 1600w amp and it was very clean, and was pulling a decent hair trick for what it was. but my upgrade later is going to be an additional two 18s and a blow through. but after looking more into this the MJ's seem better for a car audio application. the IXL's seem more suited for HT

then stick with the mjs, and just add more later. haha

I like my IXL 18! Not a stiff sub so any bit of power should have it motivated and I assume the more you put on it the better itll get. I have about 7.5-7.8 cubes for the sub and tuend to 31ish. Im thinking just one is gonna be insane in my blazer. I hope ot have it wired up and powered tuesday and vids will be up very shortly after!

Id say get the IXL but dont want you to be like me. I may not liek it when it sees power. 2-18s equals the mo cone area

ya i wouldnt mind running the IXL's but after plotting them on winISD the MJ's will work much better, just dont handle the power i have. but if there is anything in the price range 18" or multiple others i would do it. I can fit 8 12s but i dont have enough port. i can only use one 12" round port with the 8 12s lol

I am still leaning towards the 8 12s :( i will have 1.60cube per 12 after all displacement with 150" of port and get to use all 3k
