Default Crescendo FT1's

I am looking to replace the BLOSE in my truck and I was going to put a Crescendo 6.5 and super tweet behind the stock grill for the time being.

My question is will the FT1 fit behind the stock grill without modification in a 2006 GMC Yukon?

Possibly. I know with minor modification (cutting the plastic where the stock tweeter is in those doors) you can fit the precision Power pt.2 tweeters.

FT1 cutout is 2.5" and the depth is 2". They are worth modifying for though ^_^

I don't think they will. When I put 6.5's in the factory location I took the mounting cup that the bose went in and trimmed it to fit. I'll post a pic if I can find one.

Yeah I was gonna try and get them out of those cup things. I was gonna try and mount them on the door panel itself and maybe reinforce the back of the door panel with some 1/2" MDF.

My main question was about the front of the tweeter since it has that raised part. Will that raised part fit behind the grill if I surface mount it to the door panel behind the grill?

The tweeter might fit. But if I remember correctly I had to use the trimmed cup because the door is not flat. It is actually convex, and if you mount it straight to the door you can only utilize 2 of the mounting holes.
