Alternator Talk

Okay so I'm pretty much ready to order my alternator.
I was originally planning on buying a 300A alternator from Tenny.
I haven't got a response from him yet, it's been almost a week now.
I also emailed DC and they take forever to reply back, and I've read that it takes almost a month for their alternators to be shipped to the destination (I have no problem with that, considering Build time).
Singer alternators only have a 240A alternator for my Car and I'm looking for a 300+A for my car.
Excessive Amperage has not replied back to me yet (I'm calling them tomorrow since the dealer closest to me is in Gainesville and I can just drive over there).
Mechman alternator I would try, but reading a couple of threads I'm a little bias on it and I feel like it won't be as good as other competitor alternators.

What Alternator should I go for?
I'm thinking I should go to DC, I want an alternator that would last for hundreds of thousand more miles.

I run a Singer and can't say enough about his product and his customer service. I tried to go with another brand, we talked, I got one heck of a deal, I placed my order and I've never heard from them again. I am not going to chase someone to spend money, I've been happy with Singer and don't plan on dealing with anyone else in the future.

Im running into the same problem. Idk why no companies want to email me back about quotes.
Id say go DC (which is what I'm probably going to end up doing), only bad thing Ive heard about them is wait times... but they do machine their own housings which takes some time, and also means they can Build larger stronger alts.
Which model DC are you looking at? Im looking at the 320amp spx-i which is $699

Rob running a 270amp one in his blazer and its keeping 13+v with one batt in the back on a sundown 2500@0.5ohm

I can promise you this about Singer alt's, you will not find a better deal with superior customer service. Before I bought an alt I talked to every major company in the alternator business and Singer was the only one to offer a lifetime warranty, and he came in cheaper than the rest. His knowledge of cars being a car audio builder himself only adds to his experience to get you exactly what you need the first time.

Since they don't have an SPX alt for my car (Toyota Corolla LE 2009 1.8l) they have the HP.

I wish they had SPX for my car, I would love the idle output.
They have a 180HP and a 320HP for my car.
180 has more idle output, and 320HP has higher output on higher RPMS.

An over drive pulley (smaller pulley) on the alt will raise the rpm's it spins at, in turn giving you more output at idle.

Yeah, the spx for the xterra is claimed 220 at idle. Which is awesome. I would probably have zero drop, since with my stock alt (40a idle/ 110a max) and 3 group 34s i drop to like 12.3 and drop to like 13.5 while driving. Plus then Id be good for when I want to add power and more subs

I have heard good things about ohio gen, and singer as well. Singer has been one who has actually gotten back to me.

Other option I may try is a local place in Tampa called Can Am motors, apparently they make the alternators for Stinger and do around 200a at idle.
Im calling them tomorrow and Ill see what they say.
