Default Need help setting up two batteries on a charger in house

Hey dudes, I have two 20 ah batteries I want to hook up to a 36 amp (switching Power supply) and I'm not sure how to go about wireing this

My instincts tell me to take the positive from the power supply to the positive of the first battery, run another Wire from the positive of the first battery to the second, then a wire from the second positive to the positive on my amplifier, then run a wire from the negative on the amplifier to the negative of the second battery, negative of second to first, and finally first to the negative of the power supply

Crappy Digram

Will this work?

That will work.

However if its a lead acid battery charging them indoors without ventilation is supposibly potentially hazardous.
Batteries release flamable fumes while charging.

Yup that will work. When you connect the batteries in parallel (like in the crappy diagram) the amp hours double but the voltage stays the same. When you connect them in series, if i'm not mistaken, the amp hours stays the same but the voltage doubles.
