I rUn a 5500 on bass and about 1500 rms on mids with a 300 amp alt and 4 batteries in the back and a stock sized agm under hood with no problems. For almost a year I ran the setup with just 1 extra 3100 in the back and I never saw under low 13sif I kept engine around 1100rpm or so. More is just overkill and better but you can get away with less if you have voltage gauge and keep an eye on it.
