I'm fusing for the wire rating, not for the current draw.
Apparently the 2/0 Sky High Audio OFC wire rating is at least 500A.
It's thicker than 4/0 welding cable.
I never mentioned people running 500+ amp alternator.
nitrodude is correct, I was referring to the price.

I know there is large wire. But it's not very common. But also. How many alternators really do more than 350 amps. And how many amplifiers have larger than 0/1 or draw more than 350 amps per power wire run input.

I guess I just don't understand the need for overkill. 2/0 wire for amps that can't use it or for alternators that don't as well. Sure 2/0 can handle 500 amps. But in what application are you needing to push that much current in a single run.
I guess maybe an amp like the Soundstream XXX6500 or the Stetsom 7k, those draw around 500 amps.

I'm running an Ab750.1
With a 2 runs of 2/0 ofc (one pos one neg)
And 2/0 going from battery bay to amp.
300a alt with 2/0 done.
And I still have voltage loss through that 2/0 wire front to back.
I should have 4 runs of it.
Even though its rated 500 amps it still has voltage loss.
And again you're not fusing for the draw, you're fusing for what the wires rated for.

I thought we got along just fine. No problem wit u man.
However, it seems difficult for you to interpret sarcasm on here, and your capitalization of every word is annoying af. IJS.
