I'm new to this whole thing..

I'm on my first system, and I've become obsessed with Car audio, I already want to upgrade, and make the most out of my system. I have (2) memphis m3 12 inch subs with a db drive 1900 watt speed series amp. Right now I have a prefabricated memphis box with a port on the left side. It's a good box, but I want to get a bigger one because I know that would get good sound out of them. I went to my car audio dealer of choice (Underground Car Stereo) and they said that It will be between 200 and 250 (with my prefab box traded in) for a big ported custom box. Is that worth it? Will the sound be noticeably different? What else would you recommend to get me ready for a competition?

wow that does seem to be a lot of money, but most of the times its labor intensive work to make a box.

so dont think of it as just paying for wood and glue. your also getting labor and know how too.

very true.. for that price, what do you think i will be getting? Would it be worth getting 2 more subs, seeing as i'd be having a custom box done anyway..

also, do you think that I will see a big difference in loudness?

like i said id go to the show on the 20th and get it on a metter ! then go from there@! you can see and here some these custom baoxes with tuned port as to the prefabs!
