So in a Honda Civic on the Alpine MRP-1000 i should run 1 SA12 and later on upgrade to 2 SA12s and a better amp?

No run 2 12s and later upgrade the amp.

Given the proper enclosure, yes definitely.

The reason i had doubts about the SA12 was because I heard its just hyped up and a good budget sub

Honestly do you think two SA12 can fit in a Honda Civic trunk with enough room for a good box?

Yes I know it can. Go talk to rsfaze. He had a civic with 2 sa12 in his trunk.

You won't blow SA12's with 1k. I have 2 on a RFt1500 @ 1 ohm and play them daily.
